Granton:hub is a community based creative and cultural centre. The centre is a place to meet and learn for the community of Granton and Edinburgh, based in Granton’s historic Madelvic House. We are a member driven charitable organisation that aims to elevate Granton’s profile and provide a focus for Granton’s diverse and evolving communities.
Granton:hub is run by a small group of volunteers, and we are looking for a part time administrator 15 flexible hours per week (including Tuesdays) to join us to manage the day to day running of the charity.
The rate for the role is £15.00 per hour.
Initially the role will be self-employed, the successful applicant will be responsible for their National Insurance contributions and Income Tax. The ultimate aim is for the role to be employed by Granton:hub
You will be based in Maldevic House in this role and report to the Chair of the Board of Trustees You will be the first point of contact for guests, volunteers and external partners, so it’s important that you are self motivated and can work with lots of different members of the community. Duties will include:

Administration across Granton:hub’s project portfolio and managing mail (electronic and postal)

Building management including reporting repairs, arranging access for contractors, managing utility suppliers

Working with volunteers preparing updates to the website and managing Granton:hub’s social media accounts and monitoring direct messages

Working with volunteers to ensure that key activities such as room bookings and communications are covered, and providing support where required.

Managing guest access to Granton:hub’s onsite local history archives

Reviewing funding opportunities available to Granton:hub to share with the Board of Trustees on a monthly basis

Arranging access to the Archives for community members

Please note eventually there will be an on-call element to this role, whereby you will be required to respond to any alarm call outs from Maldevic House.

Proficiency in the management, development and use of Google business packages.
